George Paginton Rediscovered
George Alfred Paginton (Canadian, 1901-1988)
Paginton was a plein air landscape painter, closely associated with Group of Seven member, A.Y. Jackson and noted artist J.W. Beatty. He was an editorial illustrator for the Toronto Star from 1927 to 1970. He had an art studio in the famed Group of Seven Studio Building until he built is own home and studio on the shores of Lake Ontario. During his lifetime, Paginton rarely exhibited his works yet they are part of Canada's Official Residences Crown Collection in Ottawa and are included in the permanent collections at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Peel Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Northumberland, Robert McLaughlin Gallery, and the Sudbury Art Gallery. Check our blog for more information on the artist. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to view any of the paintings in person.
