The Artist: Jillian Field (American, 1950-1997)

Born in Chicago, Illinois and spending much of her adult life in Squaw Valley, California, Jillian Field started her interest in art early at age five. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Fine Arts. Much of her work featured landscapes and drew attention to the beauty of one or two colour stencil printing. She become known and collected for her serigraphs. Her work was sold at galleries throughout California and was often featured in television shows. You can still find the odd original Field serigraph for sale but they are rare.

The Story: This original print is a wonderful example of collectable art at an affordable price. The artist, Jillian Field, is known and collected. Favoured by landscape fans and by those interested in the environment and retro decor, Field's work is wonderfully vintage. 

This particular print appears to have been part of a juried show as there is an inscription on the back reading "Judges Spare 4129".
