Description:

The Artist: Jorge Martinez Garcia (1963) is a Chilean artist specializing in engraving. He developed his artistic skills, especially engraving, in Ecuador between 1985 and 1991. At this same time, he became interested about modern philosophy, specifically in aesthetics and religion. Returning to his native country, he taught as a professor of printmaking, painting and drawing at two universities in Valparaiso. 

The works of Jorge Martínez are displayed in private and public collections and have been exhibited in one-man shows in Canada and Germany, as well as in Argentina, Ecuador and Chile. He has participated in exhibitions throughout the world, including Japan, the USA, Canada, Spain, France, the Republic of Macedonia, Colombia and Cuba. Among many public collections holding his work is the Bibliothèque Nationale de France who acquired five works.
