The Artist: Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) was a Spanish Surrealist painter celebrated for his technical mastery and bizarre, dreamlike imagery, most famously the melting clocks in The Persistence of Memory. Renowned for his flamboyant, eccentric persona and iconic mustache, he blended Freudian psychology with classical techniques. A key figure in the 20th-century art world, Dalí worked in painting, film, and sculpture, often exploring themes of the subconscious, sexuality, and, later in life, nuclear physics.
The Story: Les Fleurs et Fruits is an original limited edition lithograph from the series “The World Of Currier And Ives as interpreted by Salvador Dali” published by Phyllis Lucas, New York. There are six original limited edition lithographs plus a title page “Dali’s Presentation” in the series. Each of the six lithographs has a miniature reproduction of the original Currier & Ives subject at the bottom of the image.
